Boys and girls, beginners to experienced. Safe, structured, and genuinely fun — coached by experienced Mavericks players.
Our junior programme introduces children to baseball through structured, fun sessions designed to build confidence alongside skills. No pressure, no elite selection — just a safe environment where kids can try something new.
"Our aim is not only to introduce new players to our club and the sport, but to provide an opportunity for children to have fun and be active. They don't need to be the fastest or the strongest — baseball rewards those who can out-think their opponents."

Fun warm-up games that build coordination and team spirit — no boring laps.
Throwing, catching, batting, and fielding — coached in small groups by Mavericks players.
Finishing with a practice game where kids put their skills to use — always the favourite part.

Your child will be coached by experienced club members who have played and coached baseball for years.
The junior baseball programme is open to boys and girls aged 7–15. For children aged 4–6, we run a separate Teeball programme — a simplified, non-pitching version of baseball that's perfect for younger children. Feel free to ask our club assistant about the right fit for your child.
No kit or equipment is needed for the first session — just comfortable sports clothing and trainers. The club provides everything: bats, gloves, helmets, and balls. Once your child joins, their membership includes a club cap and t-shirt.
None at all. The sessions are designed to take complete beginners through the fundamentals step by step. Experienced young players are also welcome — sessions are grouped by age and ability where numbers allow.
Safety is our priority. Coaches are experienced club members, many of whom have been with the Mavericks for years. All sessions follow BBF junior guidelines. Parents are welcome to stay and watch at all times.
Session times vary by season. Our club assistant can confirm the current start time and location when you register. Sessions are at Kings College, Guildford.
Absolutely — that's the idea. Many of our current adult players came through the junior programme. Once a junior reaches the right age and ability, they're welcomed into adult training and eventually the Millers or Mavericks squad.
Let your child try baseball on a Saturday morning — no payment, no kit, no commitment needed.
