Mavericks 2019 Results (Record 9-11)
After a slow start, winning just 2 of the their first 9, the Mavericks ended strongly and a 3 game winning streak saw them qualify for the play-offs. It proved to be a one and out, against a good Milton Keynes team at Farnham Park, although missing a couple of key players had no doubt contributed to this. Nevertheless the game will be remembered for Matt Taylors 3 run shot in the first inning that gave Guildford an early lead and more impressively, he was one of 6 players who had progressed from the junior programme (Matt Taylor, Jimmy Shaw, Lewis Bawden, Matt Friend, Ollie Edser and Jack Burdett).
Over the course of the season, the Mavericks were again indebted to the pitching of Yasu Minowa, who was in a class of his own, although the offense came from the whole of the squad. Defensively, from Dave Ferguson behind the dish through, Matt Friend, Edgar Simabajon to and outfield of Will Frawley, Oli Edser, the Mavericks played solid D.

New Players in 2020: Mark Bonney, Fergus Chan,
Guildford Millers
In Single-A, the Millers blooded several new players who had joined the club in the off season, along with the first influx of rookies moving up from the junior programme. Even so, they not only improved as the season progressed, but were able to hold their own against all the teams in the division and give them a good game.

Millers 2019 Results (7-15 record)
The Millers 2019 season was one of progression. From opening with close games against eventual champions, Kent Bucs, through splits with both Tonbridge teams, close games with Brighton and a sweep of the Mariners, the inexperienced Millers side played some good baseball on both sides of the ball.
MVP Mike Payne was dependable on the mound, and always contributed at the plate, including a HR in the finale at South Coast Pirates. Hew was able supported by Tom Sullivan and Myles Buckton, and the 3 of them split most of the pitching duties between them for the season. Offensively it was a case of stringing hits together, which produced results, whilst losses often came from leaving too many runners on base or too many 3 up, 3 downs. Kiwi Helps was a reliable and strong bat in the middle of the order, and rookies Jack Burdett and Kieran Gill provided tough nuts for opposing pitchers to crack. Highlight offensively though has to go to Chris’ O’Connells home run in the final game at South Coast, which
